Production Blog

Hey what's up guys it's me again! Isahiah Melendez back with another blog to keep you hip with the process. Day 3 we moved the set to a nearby CVS to portray the idea of a citizen shopping and having all their items paid for by a music artist. The customer was played by Renato and the music artist was played by Finn. You can see Finn hand the money to Renato. Then the camera cuts to a Dutch angle of Renato shopping down a candy aisle getting anything he wants. We also have another shot where we use me as another customer. This time I'm at the self-checkout buying myself some items. When I'm stopped from paying myself. Conner is the giver this time, handing me money to pay my expenses. During this journey however we had some struggles with the employees as they suspected us of trying to steal. They also had difficulties with allowing us to record, but eventually they became lenient. On the way leaving, I was stopped and confronted about a Gatorade I bought and i...

Production Blog

Hey there Cambridge. Its your friendly neighborhood, Isahiah Melendez.  Back again with yet another... Production blog!!! Yay! I know you love reading these, so I'll be sure to produce about 500 more for you. Our next day making the video, we feature Renato's house, lawn, neighborhood, and last but not least. His car! Within these shots we feature a couple props and a costume. Finn dresses as a woman and wears a blonde wig. In this shot I'm gifting his character a brand new BMW. The BMW is topped with a bow we purchased off Amazon. For this, we needed Conner to hold the bow down until the car came into shot. As this happens, Conner has to make a quick escape out of frame. This is due to the windy conditions we had on this day. The bow would NOT stay on the car at all. This took us a couple tries because we'd get Conner in the shot a couple times. Additionally, the bow would fall off occasionally. Along with the oncoming traffic coming in and out of Renato's neighbo...

Hello, my name is Isahiah Melendez  and I'm back with another blog. Today I'll be talking about our planning and finalization for setting up. When discussing our options of when the members can do our first meet-up, there were a few obstacles. First, we needed to find a time when we could all meet up to discuss it. Luckily, one of our classes landed together for all of us, allowing us to talk and arrange. During this class, we were able to see everyone's schedules. When looking at dates possible for us, we thought it would be best to look at our weekends for the first production. When it came to Finn, he was able to the weekend of 21 and 22, and the 28th. Conner could do the 29 and 28 and Renato was a maybe on the 21 and 22 but it was quite close and could not be weekdays for sure. I couldn't the 28 so we all had different days occupied. We all came to the realization that we could all do the following Tuesday and when rearranging, we all could do the Sun...

Production Blog: Location and Time

Image
Hello, it's me Isahiah Melendez back with another blog. Today I will be writing about the planning process of settling and preparing to start the music video. When it came to location, I first had to talk to each one of my members. Since we all live in different areas, we needed to figure out an area near all of us. When discussing an area near all of us, we thought it would be best an area with many shops and stores. After searching we thought the Galleria Mall would be best for our shoot. It is right in the middle between me and Finn and is a location Renato and Connor go to often. We thought this was best due to many reasons. There is a neighborhood right behind where we can project our scenes such as finding a dog walking around. Another is the CVS only a block down where we can reenact the scenes of giving back to the community. We decided to replace the CVS instead of the dollar tree originally chosen in our storyboard, due to it being more convenient to everybody. Finally,...

Group Blog

Hey Cambridge, it's me Isahiah Melendez back with another blog.  Today I'll discuss the people I'll be working with and why for my music video. Along with that, I'll discuss the music we chose and its significance. I'll be working on my project with Finn, Connor, and Renato, a total of three people. Each member was selected for a different reason. Due to his wit, Finn seemed like he would be an excellent addition to our group. His quick wit and sense of humor may be a huge asset when creating our music video scenarios, and if necessary, he can improvise to make the film still look enjoyable. Due to his ingenuity, Connor would also be a fantastic complement to our team. Connor's aptitude for thinking outside the box and come up with ideas really can aid our storyline. Connor can bring fresh perspectives and originality to our project helping our project look the best it can be. For Renato, he would be a big contribution to our group due to his technology skills...

Hey Cambridge, it's your friendly neighborhood, Isahiah Melendez, but you can call me Zay. I'm new to the class, so ill give you some insight on my story. The story of my life. I was born January 7th, 2008 in Margate, Florida. I'm Puerto Rican, African American, and Norwegian. Mostly raised by my mother and my grandma, I grew up speaking English. I loved soccer and football growing up and it definitely carried over into my future. My upbringing was in the city of Pompano Beach and moved around to Davie around the age of 12. My academic journey started at Somerset Pines Academy where I attended for my kindergarten year, and later moved to Norcrest Elementary for 1st to 4th grade. I did my last year of elementary school at Flamingo Elementary, and stayed in the area for middle school where I attended Indian Ridge Middle School. Around this time I got into soccer and played for about 2 years until I got into highschool at Fort Lauderdale High. Where I found myself joining th...
