Final editing touches

Image
Back for the last time in this project, its your favorite candidate, Isahiah Melendez.  I'm going to talk about finishing off the editing for our gym culture club "The Zoo" today. We could access a plethora of tools and functions with Adobe Premiere Pro. As was previously said, the first step in using all of our material to create our tale was to import it into the Adobe timeline function. We collaborated using Adobe's tools, providing real-time feedback and sharing project files. Using Adobe's UI to edit, chop, and rearrange clips only encouraged our team to pay close attention to as many aspects as we could. We valued transitions and felt that using Adobe's effects improved the storyline. We can also experiment with the volume of noises in Adobe Audition, from background noise to our conversation. Using Adobe After Effects, we were able to make our film truly stand out by adding titles that matched our fonts and special effects. We were thrilled with ho...

Final Countdown (Filming)

Image
Hey Cambridge, nearing the end of the project, it's Isahiah back again. Today's plan was to finalize the last scenes we had to do for filming our movie. We have already filmed some scenes of my character training, a few of Renato and Finn, and Renato and I's dialogue. Still , there were a few key scenes that needed to include all of us together—and most notably, a boxing scene. We had been facing this challenge for some time because there weren't many boxing locations available to us. Our first issue was trying to find a gym that all of us could use. Finding a gym with a boxing ring was essential, but it wasn't easy. We were able to locate one after some hunting at a gym called "The Zoo" culture club gym. The second issue was with the filming.   Because The Zoo is a private gym, we needed to know if we would be permitted inside and if we could all leave. This was our original idea, but we were unable to proceed since we had to pay the gym or figure out a...

Group filming

Image
Hey Cambridge welcome back to your favorite blog page. It's Isahiah Melendez and im back with another blog and it’s once again going to be about filming. The past 2 weekends have been dedicated to filming and today we are going to finish some more scenes with more characters. The location for today was now the beach. We involved the entire group with a plus 1 this time, including Finn, Renato, Conner, our friend Sarah, and I.  We first started with a scene that had multiple shots including Renato , Finn and Sarah. Sarah and Finn were first filmed looking at the beach relaxing while Renato was running in the background. This was an attempt to show contrast between Renato's determination to still be great while Finn has become laid back and lazy to an extent that he thinks he's in an impossible spot to lose. Conner filmed another shot with his drone of Renato running along the shore. When putting these two clips together it will later give the effect of me running a long...

Filming

Image
Hello it's me Isahiah back with another blog. Today I'll be talking about the commencing of our filming for our opening sequence to our movie. Today Renato and  Conner filmed a few scenes for our "training" scene as well as a few dialogue scenes. Finn and I were currently unavailable for the weekend, so me and Conner decided to film some scenes with only our characters included. Conner went over to Renato's, sunrise intercostal, with some of his equipment. This included some microphones for our audio to be easily heard throughout the film. He also brought a drone which would come in later use for our training scene. They started with going to Renato's neighborhood looking for a safe area to film. The plan was to have Conner use the drone to film him running, showing his character training for the fight. They simultaneously covered many shots for the film such as aerial shot, pan shot and establishing shot. There were a few trial and errors that occurred throu...

Music Choice

Image
Hey Cambridge, it's your boy, Isahiah Melendez back again. I'm going to discuss about our movie's soundtrack picking process today. There were some guidelines to follow when selecting the music. We were aware that the music couldn't be too long because the movie could only be 1:55 minutes. We only need a small portion of the music because it doesn't cover the entire song. This would have to be a brief segment that is consistent with the overall idea of our film. Regarding the topic, we also wanted a music that was hyped up and appropriate for boxers to listen to. We looked for various music, and to our amazement, there were many options. Selections included "Black Skinhead" by Kanye West, "Back to Back" by Drake, and "Lose Yourself" by Eminem. We were first thrilled to see how many music selections we had, but then we remembered another music-related regulation. We would need to email the label or artist if we wanted to continue using t...

Editing

Image
Heyy Cambridge it's Isahiah back again with another blog update. Today, I will be discussing our editing journey. While we are still in the process of filming additional shots for our project, we have made significant progress. After completing our filming sessions at the beach and restaurant, we dove into the editing phase. Our initial task involved sorting through the footage we had captured. Conner's drone shots provided a fresh perspective, allowing us to explore new ways to piece everything together. Carefully selecting the best takes, we began to craft our narrative. Experimenting with transitions, music, and sound effects, we aimed to enhance the overall mood of the film using Adobe software. Editing my dialogue scenes proved to be a challenge, but we persevered to strike the perfect balance between background audio and his voice. Throughout the editing process, we often referenced our storyboard to stay true to our vision. Collaboration pl...

Filming Begins

Image
Hey Cambridge, its me again. We've now been able to figure out some sort of a schedule. Upon discovering Conner and Renato's close proximity, we've allowed them to film the necessary scenes needed among the two of them. Conner's drone came in handy for the running uphill scene as it allowed for a high angel and wide shot. Also, allows effective tracking shots from high in the sky. The drone's self-tracking capabilities allowed Conner to drive in the car behind Renato which was a necessity in the scene. Conner somewhat takes my place in this film as I'm Renato's designated trainer for the film, however, viewers are unable to see who's driving. This allows for us to have the viewers BELIEVE I'm in the car because of the other scenes which will include me training Renato into a UNIT. Additionally, we've been able to choose scenes that can be recorded from the comfort of our homes. Scenes like news reports, interviews, and commentary, are all s...

Coordination and planning for our movie

Image
Hello again Cambridge, its me Isahiah Melendez. Back today with another blog, but this time about something a little more impactful. The Final Project. For this project we had to go out with a big BANG. Therefore, for the opening sequence, Renato, Conner, Finn, and I decided we're going to do boxing. What the group decided for the character roles was Finn and Renato as the two main boxer. With me as Renato's trainer. Renato would be portrayed as the protagonist of the movie while Finn is a clear protagonist as. Conner serves as the key production personnel with his access to the newest technology and film products. He also will have a role as the news reporter for the short scenes in the opening sequence. Looking to schedule our first film session we came to realize Conner could not film after schooldays. Renato was mostly busy during the week besides Friday's and has practices during the mornings of the weekends. I myself was very busy every other weekend having to ...
